Mood swings are not a fun experience for anyone. One moment everything is perfectly fine, and the next thing you know you're on an emotional rollercoaster ride. The person responsible is often regretful and upset, while the person on the other end feels hurt and wronged. Relationships become strained and misunderstandings occur. Fortunately, there are a number of ways that you can prevent your mood swings and return you control of your life.

 

POP PILLS FOR A BOOST?

Many women do not like to resort to medication to regulate moods as it can have other unwanted side effects. Never fear as there are also some natural supplements that can also be helpful in regulating your mood. Flaxseed capsules provide essential fatty acids, which can help in controlling moods. Taking vitamin B6 and calcium supplements of PMS under check, including extreme mood swings during periods. Take Vitamin C regularly as a Vitamin C deficiency may result in fatogue and weakness, irritability and depressed mood.

 

WHAT GOES IN MUST COME OUT

You may want to avoid foods that are high in sugar, fat and caffeine. Fatty foods tend to make you lethargic and moody. Food and drinks high in sugar and/or caffeine can result in a "sugar crash" which can make you feel cranky, agitated and more prone to mood swings. Lack of sleep is one common cause of mood swings. Sleep is very important for muscle repair and overall cell recovery. Also lack os sleep causes compromised brain function and thus makes you more prone to mood swings. Ideally, adults should get 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night.

If you know you are prone to mood swings, taking time to pamper yourself occasionally may works wonders.

Shopping ; Spas ; Facials ; Manicures ; Extreme Sports ; Walking in the garden :- works for some people.

Do it with people whose company you enjoy.

- Keep you in a positive state of mind and greatly prevent mood swings.

Once you are able to control you mood swings, the quality of life for you and your loved ones will improve greatly.
